Curious and playful
Sometimes over 200 Spinners are in the Lagoon, the spinner dolphin (Stenella longirostris) can be found in off-shore tropical waters around the world. The name is du to the acrobatic way of moving (spins) in the air when they jump.
Adults are typically 129–235 cm long and reach a body mass of 23–79 kg.
It is amazing to see them in Sataya Reef. There are so many young cubs witch means they are healthy and the place is not polluted by to many boats and tourists. They are curious and playful and not to disturbed by us.
Usually the spinners arrive in satay around 6 am in the morning all together. They stay all the day there to play, for breeding and mating and to rest.
In the evening around 5 pm they leave the reef for hunting.
